Meditation expert, Dassini Cadwallander was the author of the ‘Mind to Walk’ podcast that was released in May 2020. The podcast was introduced during the Covid-19 lockdown with the hope of providing audio that will talk people through and relax their minds whilst moving.

Authored by Dassini and narrated by Edith Bowman, ‘Mind to Walk’ released by ‘Paths for All’ is a walking meditation podcast that will leave you feeling calmer after using it.

As Scotland makes its way out of Covid-19 restrictions, Dassini believes that although the app was released during the lockdown, walking is an important aspect of our lives that we need to continue to do and include within our routines due to the positive impact that it can have on our mindfulness and mental health.

Dassini said: “I do feel that it has massive health benefits for everybody, walking is an excellent thing to do to just be a healthy human being.

“The elderly people in my life who have stayed physically active by walking are happier in their later years.

“People whom I know who go on a walk every day, who are in their 80s, have had a much higher quality of life.

“Walking makes a massive difference to your quality of life.”

According to a survey done by YouGov, during May 2020, 61% of Scots were walking more than they did before the pandemic.

With walking being such an important aspect of the Covid-19 lockdowns, it’s no surprise that not as many people will be walking as frequently as we are beginning to see the end of the pandemic. Dassini believes that walking is a gift that we need to appreciate.

Dassini believes that, “Walking is a commitment to our self-care and it’s a huge gift to yourself.”
